Graceland Auction Halted By Judge

Graceland Auction Halted by Judge

Graceland, the iconic mansion of music legend Elvis Presley, will not be auctioned off after a judge blocked the sale.

The company that had planned to auction off the property, Graceland Holdings LLC, had filed for bankruptcy in 2020 and had intended to sell the mansion to raise funds to pay off its debts. However, a judge in Tennessee has ruled that the sale cannot proceed, as it would violate the terms of a trust that was established by Presley's father, Vernon Presley.

The trust states that Graceland must be preserved as a museum and tourist attraction, and that it cannot be sold or used for any other purpose. The judge's ruling means that Graceland will remain open to the public and will continue to be a major tourist destination in Memphis, Tennessee.

Graceland has been visited by more than 1 million people in the past month, and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the United States. The mansion is home to many of Presley's personal belongings, including his gold records, stage costumes, and cars.
