Ferrari Unveils Most Powerful Hybrid Supercar
The SF90 Stradale Boasts 90 V8 Turbo Engine and Three Electric Motors
Maranello, Italy - February 24, 2023
Ferrari has taken the wraps off its latest creation, the SF90 Stradale, a mid-engine plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) that boasts the most powerful V8 engine the Italian automaker has ever produced.
The SF90 Stradale is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that generates 769 horsepower on its own. This is combined with three electric motors that provide an additional 217 horsepower, for a total system output of 1,000 horsepower.
The SF90 Stradale is the first Ferrari to use a PHEV powertrain, which allows it to travel up to 16 miles on electric power alone. It also has a top speed of 211 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds.
The SF90 Stradale is the most aerodynamically efficient Ferrari road car ever made, with a drag coefficient of just 0.39. This is comparable to the performance of the Ferrari XX Stradale, a track-only hypercar.
Ferrari has not yet announced pricing for the SF90 Stradale, but it is expected to start at around $500,000.
